I'm inviting my readers to suggest an appropriate (family friendly) caption for this picture, and on the following Friday you can all vote for your favorite. The winning caption will be posted the next Monday along with the next week's photo. I'm starting a little early this week so you can all get a running start.Kathie Freemanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13268588618983753813noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12156925.post-25479893821008659552008-04-29T08:40:00.000-07:002008-04-29T08:44:07.052-07:00Down to 2My sweet Precious went over the Rainbow bridge last week, so now we are down to two cats, Trinket and Susie Q, Precious' catmom. Susie is getting more vocal now that her baby is gone, and Trinket still hollers over her catnip mouse. Otherwise the house is awfully quiet.Kathie Freemanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13268588618983753813noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12156925.post-1151082253953507022006-06-23T10:01:00.000-07:002006-06-23T10:04:13.966-07:00Tell me about your cat. When Precious was a kitten, she developed a bad habit of climbing up under the car and perching on the drive shaft. One day I had to go to the hardware store for something, and drove off without realizing she was under there. When I got back home we realized what had happened, but had no way of knowing where she had gotten off. It broke my heart to see her mother sitting in the yard, calling into the evening air for her precious baby.

The next day I went to the copy store and made up a hundred "lost kitten" flyers and passed them out to every house within a block of the street I had taken to the store. Two days passed and I had almost given up, and Suzie had quit calling, when I got a phone call from a woman on the next block. They had found a kitten matching that description, and would I come take a look at it. I was there in less than 10 minutes with my cat carrier.

I hurried home and set the carrier on the grass a few feet away from Suzie and opened the door. Precious came out slowly, and Suzie saw her. She hesitate a moment, then went over to her and started washing her. We started calling the little one "Precious Baby" and eventually just "Precious".Kathie Freemanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13268588618983753813noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12156925.post-1113426826703555392005-04-13T14:10:00.000-07:002006-06-23T10:13:33.403-07:00A Good Place to StartI'd like to hear your favorite story about your cat. Come on, you know you have one. Like the time he climbed up on the knick-knack shelf and threw down everything exept the china cat that looks like him? If it's really good, I'll post it on my ezine for all the world to read. Thanks, KathieKathie Freemanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13268588618983753813noreply@blogger.com0
